OatMilq: Building a Brand Before the Break

The Context

OatMilq is an LA-based production and songwriting duo—Brandon Miranda and Eros—specializing in contemporary R&B. Their sound sits in the sweet spot where catchy pop hooks meet smooth R&B soul, drawing inspiration from Khalid, Majid Jordan, Lucky Daye, and Kehlani.

The talent was there. The sound was there. But the brand wasn't keeping pace. They came to VSNRY to align their visual identity in preparation to expand their reach and establish better opportunities for their work.

The Insight

In the music industry, how you present is often the first filter for opportunity. Labels, publishers, and collaborators make snap judgments based on visual identity before they ever press play. OatMilq's sound was polished and professional—but their brand didn't communicate that same level of intentionality.

The opportunity wasn't just a website redesign. It was building a cohesive brand system that would serve both members individually and as a duo for years to come.

The Approach

Phase 1: Brand Identity. We created a complete design system enabling the duo to understand and own their positioning: brand guidelines, logo, and color usage framework. Clean lines. Clear positioning. A visual language that matched the sophistication of their sound.

Phase 2: Content Strategy. We developed a social media content strategy aligned on posting principles, target audience, and approach—giving them a repeatable system rather than ad hoc content creation.

Phase 3: Design & Development. We delivered the full suite: website design and development, media kit design, and social post templates. Everything they needed to show up professionally across every touchpoint.
